How I work

My approach to therapy is compassionate and non-judgmental. I firmly believe that our sessions are led by your needs and respect what an individual brings to each session – in my eyes you are the expert in your life – my job is to assist you to make sense of what’s happening and to facilitate the motivation and confidence to make the changes that you feel you need.

In recent years a big proportion of my therapy work has been focused on identifying existing skills and using these to enhance resilience and self compassion – two things that are fundamentally not taught to most people. I align myself and my work within the Positive Psychology movement.
